O piosence

This letter was written by a young man in the south to his grandmother in Northgate. The night the city emptied, the clock on the square stopped at half past three, and he stopped the old watch she had given him at the same minute. A year later her letter came: she had walked back alone, climbed the tower and got the clock going again. He set his watch by it and started walking north.

Night 21. At twelve today the clock on the square rang for the first time in a year. I counted twelve. Down on the road, people stopped walking, looked at their wrists and turned their watches. Lamp 21 is lit.

Play it on the way back to somewhere you left, or send it to the grandma who went home first. Tell us your city in the comments, and Lampwright will see your light.

you walked back north alone
at noon the clock rang again
